Early and Rare Uncatalogued Original Signed Gustav Stickley Settle.

Rare signed Gustav Stickley oak settle, 1902-1904. Beautifully simple and direct, this early form displays wide arms with "clipped-corners" which are pierced by the large thru-tenons of the legs, typical of the earlier forms. The side stretchers also show large thru-tenons. Liberal use of quarter sawn oak with heavy flake throughout. The condition is excellent with no damage or repairs, it has been professionally refinished by us. Signed with the early red decal of joiners compass and "Stickley" in a box. This is the only example of this form which we have seen in 20 years specializing in Arts and Crafts furniture. Back is angled for comfort, a thin cushion could be added to the seat for extra comfort.
